As a strategic community relations leader, Olga is passionate implementing out-of-the-box solutions to build sustainable, engaged, and inclusive communities. She has over 12 years of experience working as a consultant with local municipalities and other public agencies in the areas of policy development, strategic planning/communications and community outreach. She also has strong connections with the immigrant services sector across Canada and has an innate ability to develop creative and successful methods to influence stakeholders.
Olga received her Bachelor /Master of Science Degree in Economics (Accounting Major) from the Odessa State Economic University in the Ukraine. After immigrating to Canada in 2001, she pursued an Honours Certificate in HR Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Community Planning form the University of British Columbia. Olga was recently on the Organizing Committee for MOSAIC Newcomer Civic Engagement and the Pathways 2 Prosperity National Conference, and was Board Director for the Society of Intercultural Education, Training, and Research for BC.
Prior to joining Empower Me, Olga was a Social Planner for the City of Surrey where she led the development and implementation of the Surrey Local Immigration Partnership plan. She was also a Senior Consultant at DiversityCLUES Consulting where she was responsible for end-to-end project management for public engagement, community outreach, policy development and training initiatives.
